Steven Lau

Originally from Hong Kong, Steven’s passion for aviation began at an early age — growing up directly under the approach path to the airport gave him a front-row seat to the world of flying. A childhood visit to Cathay City left a lasting impression, deepening his fascination with aviation, which he explored through years of flight simulation before stepping into a real cockpit.

After completing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at RMIT University, Steven began his flight training with Learn To Fly Melbourne, where he successfully completed his first solo flight — a milestone that marked the start of his journey towards a professional flying career.

Steven’s ultimate goal is to join the Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Program. His engineering background gives him a technical edge and a methodical, safety-conscious approach to flying.

Outside of aviation, Steven is a passionate Formula 1 fan and enjoys listening to K-pop in his downtime.
